MARK Jansen began his I.T. career in July 1998 when he was employed as I.T. Manager /
System Administrator for Connell Wagner, an engineering and design firm. At that time and
for three years following, Mark was the sole IT presence to over 100 staff and computers in
addition to 5 servers from which he developed a great amount of responsibility and initiative
for problem solving. Mark performed the design and implementation of Connell Wagner's
100mbit switched and trunked network over two floors which comprises Lotus Notes and
Domino e-mail systems, Internet proxy servers, backup and archival systems, network IP
printing, and online helpdesk support to over 150 users.
Since that time, Mark's role grew to supporting not only the Adelaide office but also regional
offices such Darwin, Whyalla, Port Pirie and Perth and in-turn, Mark was promoted to the I.T.
Manager for the entire Central-West Region. Mark showed himself proficient in providing
prompt and reliable support and management for these regional offices in addition to
managing I.T. staff within the Adelaide office, Hardware and Software ordering and
inventories, preparing and managing the Adelaide IT budget, and reporting to the Adelaide
Managing Director for all I.T related matters.
Mark completed his Diploma of Information Technology at the Adelaide Institute of T.A.F.E in
1999 and has continued to work for Connell Wagner as their I.T. Manager for over five and a
half years. During his tenure at Connell Wagner, he developed and implemented many
in-house systems such as a Lotus Notes based helpdesk system for I.T. support requests as well
as several networking and communication systems for large-scale engineering projects and
overseas ventures. Many interstate staff have commented that the Adelaide network is one
that has the focus on the user and is a very streamlined and efficient infrastructure. Mark has
also successfully managed staff and resources during several network disaster situations over
the years, which involved bringing offline/damaged systems back online for the entire office
within extremely critical deadlines.
Mark has a friendly and agreeable attitude as well as a great sense of responsibility and pride
in his work. Mark has shown initiative when presented with often difficult and trying tasks
during his duties as a Systems Administrator and has upheld his responsibilities reliably and
with quality over the years.
Mark has a keen interest in hardware and surrounding PC technology and keeps himself up to
date with recent technological advancements. This is evident in his work as he adapts well
to the implementation, understanding and maintenance of new systems within our
workplace. I am confident Mark's skills, work ethic and great attitude will be a valuable asset
to his next prospective employer.

Interests:
Going for a thrash in the mud on my Honda XR250R trailbike in the quarry behind where I live. Hanging out with my little fella Reeve and my drop dead gorgeous wife. Taking the dogs for a walk around the hills behind our house while dodging rouge 4WD's and dirtbikes... Skateboarding at the local ramps, hotting up my black '98 Nissan Pulsar, Playing Xbox360, Xbox and the Wii with my mates, Reviewing video games and movies for our website, hitting the Cove BMX track and the foothills on my mountain bike, doing up stuff around the house, and gardening on my days off. Going for a thrash through the hills in my modified '98 Nissan Pulsar with the stereo cranked to some good metal tunes, 'Modding' stuff, Hot Cars n Motorbikes, Anime, Video Games, Technology, Movies and DVD's, Gardening, Skateboarding, Working on projects around the house. Tuning my 70cc two-stroke scooter and taking it for beach runs along the esplanade and dirt bike tracks behind my house. Hanging out & helping at Edge Church.

AudioSlave, Karnivool, 30 Seconds to Mars, Linkin Park, Hoobastank, Fort Minor, Wicked beat sound system, The Chemical Brothers, Sneaky Sound System, Jamiroquai, Foo Fighters, Fort Minor... and basically anything with a good bassline or guitars that I can crank up through the amp in my car and go for a good race to... oh, and pretty much anything in the 'chillout' style for lazy days outside in the sun.
